Probabilistic record linkage
An entity-resolution method that scores multiple record attributes to estimate which records refer to the same entity.
When to consider it
- When reliable shared identifiers are missing and records may describe the same person, organization, or other entity
Considerations
- Prepare comparable attributes, choose a decision threshold for the use case, and evaluate false links and missed links. A predicted match is not a verified identity.
